In 1909, Arthur Edward Waite and Pamela Coleman Smith developed and published the Tarot deck, based on the teachings of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Knowledge, home practice, and tarot training usually start with the Rider-Waite tarot deck. Although this is the most knows deck, Rider Waite is far from the only option for a beginning fortune-teller. 3. Shuffle cards more often. Not only before laying them out, but also just whenever you want. The more often you shuffle and hold the deck in your hands, the more it is filled with your energy.

4. Relax, especially if you just started to use Tarot cards. Take a series of deep breaths, exhale and free your mind!

5. Write down interpretations of cards, as well as your thoughts, predictions, feelings that come during fortune telling! In such a manner you will develop intuition and learn how to correctly interpret different cards.

6. Give thanks. After fortune telling, it is useful to thank the deck in your own words and carefully put it in a bag or case until the next session. Do not drop them everywhere! Respect the cards! Giving others your deck is not recommended!

This is the simplest tarot spread for beginners; it helps to tune in for the next day. All you need to do is concentrate, shuffle the deck, gather cards, ask a question and pull any tarot card.

Now look at it, read the interpretation and reflect. What characters are drawn on the card and what do they do? What situation is shown? Does this card remind you of any event, feeling or person?
